As you know, "Music Therapist" is now a profession so healing is recognized in the medical world as having healing qualities. During periods of stress or times of depressed mood music has personally kept me sane. It is now believed that infants who are exposed to classical music even while yet in the womb, are imprinted for life by that experience. I believed this prior to my third son being born and played classical music - mostly Mozart prior to and during his birth and he turned out to be what my late husband described as "very talented" in music. He studied piano, saxophone, and guitar. He played in a jazz band for a while prior to becoming a father. As for the science behind this, I confess I am ignorant.
